Starbucks in Japan sell sweet Japanese potato frappuccinoThursday September 20th, 2018
Where McDonald’s Japan is using matcha to fit the traditional Japanese flavor, Starbucks has chosen to go for one of the traditional Japanese Autumn snacks, sweet potatoes, with their Crispy Sweet Potato Frappuccino.
Normally, you do not connect crispy with Starbucks drinks, but the new frappucino is made with imo kempi, a traditional Japanese thrice fried sweet potato chip coated with sugar for extra sweetness. It is found in crushed form, both as a topping and in the drink itself.
