Romeo & Juliet Inspired ‘Boarding School Juliet’ Airs This FallThursday May 31st, 2018
Fans of Romeo and Juliet type stories don’t have to wait long for the premiere of Boarding School Juliet (Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet). The cute interpretation of Shakespeare’s classic play will air this October.
Yousuke Kaneda launched Boarding School Juliet in 2015 and the adorable story has won a large readership with nearly 1 million copies are in print. The manga is a cuter take on Romeo and Juliet, focusing more on the couple keeping the relationship a secret without deadly powerplays. However, everyone at the academy knows martial arts, which leads to some intense fights.
Yousuke Kaneda’s Boarding School Juliet focuses on Romio Inuzuka (voiced by Yuuki Ono) and Juliet Percia (voiced by Ai Kayano), who are rival heads of different dormitories at a prestigious academy. Despite being sworn enemies, Romio risks his reputation when he confesses his feeling for Juliet. The couple may be in love, but they must keep their relationship a secret from their classmates.
